Guardamar del Segura is an Ideal Location For Bird Watching Holidays in Spain

If you a bird lover, whether an enthusiastic amateur or a seasoned professional you are sure to find that Guardamar and the surrounding area of the Costa Blanca will allow you to see a wide variety of uncommon species of bird along with some more common ones. The Guardamar natural park, and the salt lakes in the surrounding area are the home of many interesting and varied bird species.

The natural park is quite literally right on your doorstep if you stay in our Sunrise Apartment in Guardamar del Segura because we are front line to it with fabulous sea views and views of the natural park and marina too.

The picture to the left was taken by one of our guests, a very good photographer who also photographed many other species in and around Guardamar, in fact he photographed some owls who were nesting in the trees just opposite from us.

The pink flamingos are a common but beautiful sight in the summer in Guardamar but to get stunning photos you have to be able to get to them often and sit and watch, our holiday apartment in Guardamar is just a 5 to 10 minute drive from the salt lakes where they go in abundance.
